long,long ago peketua found some clay
He shaped it with his hands
and made it until it was smooth and perfect oval.
Peketua shouted ‘See i Have made an Egg!’
But the People in the village said,
Nothing will come out of that dumb Egg!
It is only an egg shaped from clay.
Tane said,‘I will breathe on peketua’s egg.
I will make it come to life.
Tane breathed on the egg.
Inside the egg, something began to move.
Tane breathed on the egg again.
All the people watched.
The egg cracked open,Something was inside.
The People said,Ai!look!’
And out come of the egg came a magnificent tuatara.
Should school uniforms be compulsory
In Chapel Downs a group of children are asking whether school uniform should be compulsory.In this argument i will tell you why children should wear uniform.
Firstly, it identifies your school, for example if they’re on a trip and someone becomes lost.
Secondly, It prevents theft or jealousy by students because other students are wearing cooler clothes than them.
Thirdly,it represents your school when great things happen for example winning of competitions,well bahaved while visiting schools and trips to other places.
On the other hand some children are saying they’re uncomfortable about their uniform for example short socks and their legs are getting cold in the winter. another reason is uniform costs too much and is a waste of money,new uniforms are going to get dirty anyway.
furthermore it represents the school when a unpleasant behaviour is happening outside school.
In conclusion some people say that home clothes are better than uniform but school uniform is a great way to represent schools and the children’s behaviour outside instead of hiding it behind untidy home clothes and this is why children should wear school uniform.
